Grand Prix of Long Beach Recap

James Hinchcliffe, No. 5 Arrow Electronics Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda: “I’m so proud of these boys! I’m proud of the Schmidt Peterson Motorsports guys, Honda, everybody, just a phenomenal result. This racetrack has been so good to me over the years; I had my first Atlantic podium here, first Indy Lights win here, first IndyCar top five and my first IndyCar podium. It’s just always been one that I’ve wanted to be on top of. To finally get to Victory Circle is awesome.”

Mikhail Aleshin, No. 7 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda: “The race was going good overall; we had good pace, the car was good, we had good pit stops and the team worked really well. Everything was going as planned and the strategy was perfect until I got together with (Tony) Kanaan where I broke my front wing and I lost my pace. I felt like I could hold my position. Then, obviously, (J.R.) Hildebrand crashed into my rear and destroyed my chance to make the top 10. But positively, we had a really good race and I’m very happy for the team and for James. I think the team gave a great effort this weekend and we just need to keep the momentum.”
